21st CENTURY AUTOMOTIVE

Future Tech Now will host The DETC Automotive Showcase featuring vehicles and cutting-edge AR & VR demos from DETC and its affiliates, including Target3D, Skeye, Mo-Sys, Mixed Immersion and PiXYZ. Attendees can get hands-on with Immersive experiences where they can explore new AR/VR technologies, while gaining a broad and solid understanding of AR/VR capabilities and its value in engineering and manufacturing.

3D AUDIO RECORDINGS TO SIMULATE

FULL IMMERSION OF VEHICLE VR

Through the development of a virtual car and track, we’ve recreated a lap around the track in CG, all to the existing parameters of the real-world experience, such as engine start up, rev and idle in dynamic scenarios including ‘in garage’, rolling outside the garage, and on the road.

You’ll have the experience of sitting in the passenger seat while a pro driver takes you for a lap around the track. As you rotate your head, you’ll be able to hear the detailed nuances of the engine sound as you would in a real car, fully immersing you in the high-performance driving experience.

BRINGING MOTORCYCLE HERITAGE TO

LIFE THROUGH AUGMENTED REALITY TECH

Mo-Sys will use their proprietary StarTracker technology to enable untethered roaming and tracking, allowing complete headset immersion in AR on the showfloor.

Users will be immersed in a full AR history of classic motorcycles, as well experiencing how these motorcycles are assembled on the shop floor.

AUGMENTED VIRTUALITY FOR REMOTE

COLLABORATIVE REVIEWS USING POINT CLOUD DATA

Using Oculus Rift and Microsoft Kinect, users will be immersed in a full-car interior, where they can view the point cloud of another user sitting in the opposite seat.

Collaborators based at different global locations can see and hear the responses and expressions of other users immersed in the environment with them in real-time.
