The Future of VR Gaming – Panel Session

On Friday 21 April, we’ll be hosting a special panel session to explore the future of VR gaming and entertainment. Speakers will include Dr Jo Twist, CEO of Ukie and Nick Button-Brown, Chair of the Games Committee for BAFTA.

Topics to be explored will include:

REGULATION, CERTIFICATION AND GOVERANACE: Right now its extremely fragmented and dependent entirely on the delivery platform/publisher, so there’s no real value in current certification marks for consumers. Who’s really going to step up and unify the different organisations currently doing this?
SKILLS AND TRAINING: How do we open the doors beyond the game or film industries and bring talent from other industries into VR/AR? We need talent from across all verticals including military, medical, architecture, fashion, retail, education, automotive, smart cities, blockchain, Artificial Intelligence etc. How do we create bridges with those verticals and stop being focused on the tech talent and start looking at the commercial talent that will be needed to drive experiences and studios beyond churning out the same types of entertainment experiences?
